Description

Classic and Timeless!  Rare find: collectible for  Educators, Military, or History Fans!  Original MID-CENTURY Globe (75 years old!), made during late 1940's to 1950's, by "Repogle Globes" (10 inch size, designed by Cartographer Gustav Brueckman).  Globes became very popular in homes and schools during World War II, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt encouraged families to have a GLOBE available during his Military Radio Addresses, as a reference.  Repogle Globe was founded in 1930 - and became the most famous Globe-company in the World.  This item has the popular "Repogle Design" with the metal "Meridian Ring" and metal base.  Countries are bright and colorful (with only the typical 1950's wear).  Maps were printed on PAPER GORES (made from reclaimed paper fiber - during the War) - and then applied to the Globe BY HAND.  Globe is 14" high and 12" wide.  Item can be shipped nationwide to Winning Bidder (with insurance) or picked up for free in Enfield, CT after the Auction.  Classic piece for any home, bookcase, or school.
