The National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation supports and promotes research to find treatments and a cure for all types of Niemann-Pick Disease, and we provide support services for individuals and families affected by NPD. See more information at www.nnpdf.org NNPDF's VISION is a world where Niemann-Pick disease is no longer a threat to a full and productive life for patients and their families. Medical professionals, thoroughly familiar with the disease, will promptly and accurately diagnose it early in the patient's life, and then prescribe an appropriate therapy. Families affected by Niemann-Pick disease will not be devastated by the diagnosis or its impact on their lives. Individuals with Niemann-Pick disease will have the same chance as their siblings and peers to run and play, to hope and achieve, and to live out their dreams. The NNPDF is also a "sister-chapter" to the Canadian Chapter of the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation (CC ~ NNPDF). We held our first "international" Family Conference in Toronto this past year, and what a success it was! We work jointly to fund research and provide services to our Canadian families affected by all types of Niemann-Pick Disease. The NNPDF also works to support many families and individuals internationally who daily face the challenges of Niemann-Pick Disease. Since its inception the NNPDF has funded over $4.3 million dollars towards research into Niemann-Pick Disease. In addition, to research our detailed family services programs provide: *Emotional support to individuals and families dealing with all types of Niemann-Pick Disease; *Assistance through a crisis; *Information and ideas about issues such as doctors, clinics, insurance companies and other health and human service programs; *Practical suggestions about day-to-day care.
