NAMI Maine has been providing support, education, and advocacy on behalf of people with mental illness and their families since 1984. Our help line responds to thousands of calls each year. We provide education about mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse issues to all who need it. We work locally and state-wide to make sure that people with mental illness and their families can find the help when and where they need it. No family or person living with mental illness in Maine needs to be alone. NAMI Maine families are there to help. They understand and want to help others meet the challenges and face the struggles that are so apparent when dealing with mental illness.
