LeoPALS is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2010 by a passionate team of volunteers whose decades of experience with a variety of dog breed rescue groups, veterinary practices, and animal shelters include scores of successful Leonberger placements. We are a national organization who welcomes volunteers to participate short-term or long-term. We vote our board into office and limit terms at every level so that no one person becomes over-worked or burned-out. We thrive on shared ideas, a common vision, and love for the Leonberger dog. Each dog is vetted, neutered/spayed if old enough, fostered, and evaluated before adoption. Leos that are too young to be neutered/spayed will be placed with an adoption clause that requires an additional, but refundable, payment and the promise that the procedure will take place.
