Located in St. Joseph County, Indiana, the Meow Mission is an all-volunteer nonprofit that practices and promotes Trap/Neuter/Return. The Meow Mission is dedicated to educating the public on the vacuum effect, a natural phenomenon where catching and killing free-roaming cats simply allows a new influx of cats to move in and replace those that were killed. Exterminating these cats is a futile exercise; in addition to being inhumane and unnecessary, this archaic, brutal practice is costly to the community. Catch and kill is not, nor will it ever be, an effective way to reduce the overpopulation of free-roaming cats. In an effort of being as transparent as possible, we've submitted all record requirements to Guidestar and received their gold seal of participation.
