Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum that blends science, nature, and play, inspiring families to explore and learn together. In 2017 the museum completed an $8.8M capital campaign to completely renovate our campus, culminating with the opening of the new Discovery Museum in early 2018. The all-new 16,000 sf museum and Discovery Woods outdoor nature playscape and treehouse are all accessible and developed based on Universal Design principles that blend the best of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning on a beautiful 4.5-acre campus in Acton, MA, about 20 miles west of Boston. Serving families and schools from more than 100 towns throughout the region and beyond, the museum is committed to early learning and 21st century skills development through play.
