If you can't attend but still want to bid on a Live Event Item, you have two options:

1. You may submit a proxy bid by clicking on the button "Bid Up To This Amount." This allows you to enter your maximum bid - the highest amount you are willing to pay - and it will continue in increments until your maximum bid is reached. At the close of the online auction, the item will go to the Live Event. Bidding will continue from where it left off at the online auction. Your maximum bid will be carried forward to the live event.

2. Click on the button "Bid This Exact Amount" and submit your straight bid. The item will then go to that exact price rather than increments. You will then be the highest bidder at the exact amount you entered. At the close of the online auction, the highest bid will carry over the live event. If no one else places a higher bid, you will win the item.
