Bastille Day 2015: Lafayette returns to America!
A fantastic summer fête with the Comité Tricolore!
Lafayette returns to America - and for one night, you too can return to the era of Lafayette!
About the Event
On Friday, July 10, the Embassy of France will welcome Washingtonians to the Comité Tricolore's spectacular annual Bastille Day celebration!
In 1780, the French frigate, Hermione, carried the Marquis de Lafayette to America where he played a pivotal role in America's bid for independence. This summer, an authentic recreation of the Hermione is sailing to the U.S. - and to celebrate the spirit of freedom, the Bastille Day event at the French Embassy will transport you and your guests to a supremely elegant and romantic 18th century grand soirée!
Period entertainment - both music and dancing - will enchant you... you'll meet costumed contemporaries of Lafayette as you sample exquisite fare from some of Washington's finest restaurants, hotels and pastry shops... and the evening ends with a fast-forward to the present as a DJ invites you to dance the night away!

The ComitéTricolore is a registered not-for-profit association whose mission is to serve as a society for French and French-American organizations of the Washington, DC area to share ideas, develop relationships and promote French culture. All members are volunteers and profits raised are entirely dedicated to the Comité's social deeds towards the less privileged.
