Weaver Goes...Havana

This fun night, sponsored by Friends of Weaver (FOW), consists of dinner, silent auction, live auction, and dancing. FOW is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining, improving, and updating the technology needs of Weaver Elementary School.

Through a variety of fundraising efforts, FOW provides support and resources to teachers and staff so they can provide learning opportunitites which enable all students to be successful. 

Funds raised directly benefit your child through FOW’s provision of the following:

• FOW is raising money to replace 38 outdated desktops that are over 10 years old with 38 brand-new laptops that will allow our kids to work with the latest technology.
• FOW is funding "Project Lead The Way" (PLTW) at Weaver

1. As the first and only elementary school implementing this program in the district, Weaver is forging ahead as the trail blazer to introduce this curriculum to our students. 
2. The goals of PLTW are to launch critical thinking, integrate technology into the classroom, encourage teachers and students to learn together, teach students to use the design process: Ask, Explore, Model, Evaluate, Explain.
3. The money FOW raises has funded, and will continue to fund, the credentialed teacher, curriculum, training and instruction materials in the Media Center.
4. During the past five years, FOW has purchased over 650 technology devices for Weaver students and staff.
