Big Night Out!
Join us on Saturday, April 29 for Big Night Out! (BNO!), our annual semi-formal spring benefit. The evening features our Living the Dream Mentor Award ceremony, dinner, dancing and silent auction. BNO! revenue helps us raise the more than $1.5 million needed to sustain our sliding-scale tuition program each year.
Manhattan Country School: Celebrating 50 Years
Five decades ago, Gus and Marty Trowbridge set out to create an independent school where equity, social justice, a diverse community and the inspiration of Martin Luther King, Jr. would form the basis for children's education. Today, under the leadership of Director Michèle Solá and in a new facility at 150 West 85th Street, Manhattan Country School is neither an experiment nor a utopian vision. It is a reality -- a school that has true socioeconomic, racial and ethnic diversity, thus providing its graduates with an academic experience strengthened by a deep understanding of our multicultural world.
Living the Dream Mentor Award
Each year, Manhattan Country School honors excellence and leadership in progressive education, arts and sciences, social and environmental justice and community activism with its Living the Dream Mentor Award. This year, we honor someone who exemplifies MCS' vision and mission through his personal writing and journalistic reporting on race and inequity in America.
