Steve Woodall, collections specialist for artists’ books at the Legion of Honor and San Francisco Center for the Book’s former Artistic Director, is also a former San Francisco cabdriver. He’ll escort you through the Technicolor streets of Hitchcock’s San Francisco, offering insights and anecdotes galore – until you tell him to stop.
You are bidding for a 3-1/2 hour tour (for up to three people) of the San Francisco locations Hitchcock used for the film, from well-known sites such as Mission Dolores and Fort Point to the now-obscure former locations of long-gone San Francisco institutions, including Ernie’s, Podesta Baldocchi and Ransohoff’s. Even if you think you know the city well, this tour will offer a view from a fresh perspective; and even if you’re already a Hitchcock fan, you might gain new insight into a classic film.
