Description

This aerial view of the Papaloa homestead of Kealakekua Ranch shows some of the various ranch buildings such as the men?s house, the owner?s house and working pens and chutes for parting, branding and surgery of cattle. One of the first scales in Kona was installed in 1954 for weighing breeding herd replacements. Photograph by Nicholas Greenwell, 1978.

This photograph on canvas appeared in Kona Historical Society's 2016 exhibit, Kona Ranching and Kona Cowboys. Dimensions are 11"x16".
