Ursula Fahner Noonon was born in 1912 in San Jose. She moved with her mother in 1918 to Dresden, Germany. She studied at a series of colleges and art schools in Canada and the United States, as well as in Salzburg, Austria.
The artist moved to west Sonoma County in 1967, and worked at home studios in Guerneville, Occidental and Forestville. She resided near Pond Farm around the same time that Marguerite Wildenhain lived and worked there. They were acquaintances.
