Everything old is new again, or so the saying goes. In this case, old apple orchards have been mined to create beautiful, fresh, sublime ciders. It's an apple love story between those who knew there was still treasure to be found here and of course, the treasure itself. We're all winners because we get to drink it.
The tart, tannin-rich, bittersharp apples, obtained from regional abandoned orchards were blended with apples from select Hudson Valley orchards. The result is a cider that drinks perfectly, like a refreshing bite into a crisp apple. Alc. 6.0% ABV
About Abandoned Cider: We are the first licensed farm cidery in Sullivan County, NY. Our headquarters is a 19th Century barn on a 110-acre historic dairy farm in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. Old apple trees dot the edges of our fields and served as the inspiration for this cidery. Under our stewardship, this old farm is once again productive, serving as an orchard and preserve for rare cider apple varieties.
The foundation of our ciders is and always will be wild and abandoned apples. In collaboration with our community, this cider is made from apples collected on foraging expeditions in the wild apple forests of the Catskill Mountains and from apples picked in abandoned orchards throughout the region. We seek out apples that have roots in New York?s rich cider heritage and use them to create the best craft cider.
