Explore the therapeutic benefits of breath retraining with teacher Christine Bauman.
The Buteyko Breath Retraining method involves a series of exercises that restores healthy breathing patterns. Breathing is the most fundamental of bodily functions; when breathing properly, the rest of the body is positively impacted. Breath retraining exercises are particularly useful for those with respiratory, sleep and anxiety-related disorders. It is also a very powerful tool for deepening the meditation practice.
Consultation will include two 45-minute telephone sessions. The sessions are meant to begin the improvement of breathing, elimination of symptoms, and the reduction of reliance on breathing supports. There will be an initial analysis of current breathing patterns, symptoms and triggers followed by instruction on breath awareness and breathing exercises. The second session will focus on one of two areas: improvements in breathing, changes in symptoms, energy and sleep and how to go further; or related Buteyko breathing to your meditation practice.
Chris Bauman has been teaching Buteyko since 2000 and is also a Buteyko Educator Trainer. She was a clinician for Calgary medical study on Buteyko and asthma and is the interim president of the forming Buteyko Breathing Educators Association. She is a fully accredited member and trainer of the international organization, Buteyko Institute of Breathing and Health (BIBH). She was a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and now studies under Mipham Rinpoche.
