Item Description
This book was an effort by Jeanne Cherry to build a body of knowledge of tennis antiques and collectibles. A large part of the book is devoted to racquets, with a cut-off date of 1940. Many collectors also hunt for boxed sets, silver, ceramics, ephemera, art, books, photographs and ball cans. These are covered as well, but in less depth. The appendices give information on where to find tennis items, details on racquets, patent dates and tennis museums as well as a list of 500 important tennis books. There are fabulous illustrations and amazing photographs. This book is new. However, the cover shows a few minor signs of the book's age (it was published in 1995).
