Item Special Note

THE REDS

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

2006 Coho, Summit Valley Ranch, Diamond Mountain - $ 50

Coho's SummitVine Ranch Cabernet is a big burly wine on both the nose and palate, loaded with concentrated fruit. This is a stunning wine with tons of intensity and luscious fruit - impeccably balanced and complex. Tannins are there, but not overly aggressive.

2005 Moss, Spicer Vineyard, Stags Leap, Napa - $ 50

The Spicer vineyard is located the in the heart of the Stag’s Leap District. Only a few hundred cases were produced. It opens with dark berry fruit bursting out of the glass. The wine is elegant and oh-so silky, no, not light; it is like velvet touching your tongue. The wine has a touch of toasty vanilla and oodles of dark stone fruit on the mid-palate. The stunningly complex Cab has tons of depth and structure and finishes with a real bang!

2006 Redmon, Redmon Estate, Napa - $ 50

Delicious layers of flavor emanate from this elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. This is their signature estate wine made with 100% Cabernet. Black cherry, raspberry, Asian spice and cassis blend together to gracefully compliment the touch of vanilla and toasty oak flavor introduced by the finest French Oak barrels. A velvety texture glazes across the palate supporting the acidity and structure resulting in a long, lingering finish. This result is a wine that will easily cellar for the next 12 to 15 years. Winner: Double Gold Medal at International San Francisco Wine Competition!

PINOT NOIR

2007 Tyler, Presidio Vineyard, Santa Barbara County - $50

100% Dijon Clone! Only 100 cases produced. Its broad shoulders and firm profile suggest it will be a wine to lay down for a couple of years. Although currently a bit firm, the dark ruby color and red fruit along with hints of oak spice are quite appealing right now. This is a very flashy wine.

2007 August West, Rosella Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands - $ 40

A fine example of Rosella's, one of the most famous vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Spicy on the nose with aromas of black cherries that carry over to the palate. A bigger style that's drinking well already, but is structured to last for a decade or more.

PETITE SIRAH

2006 Stanton, Estate, Napa Valley - $ 45

This is one of the best, if not the best, Petite Sirahs ever tasted! This is a luscious, flavorful, densely concentrated wine all from Doug Stanton’s St. Helena Estate. The wine’s aroma jumps out of the glass. It is black in color, yes black, viscous like crude oil, and a body this dense one needs a knife to cut it. I highly recommend decanting this when brewing that morning cup of java and enjoying at night, or even better the next day. Only 185 cases were produced, so better hurry here! This is an awesome bottle of wine!

THE WHITES

CHARDONNAY

2007 Tyler, Zotovich Family Vineyard, Santa Rita Hills - $ 45

This is one of the hot newcomers and it came in with a "bang." This winery will gave many big names a run for their money. Only 116 cases produced from this great vineyard, its characteristics are becoming much more transparent. This site is lean, long, and mineral, but adds very nice mid-palate density with a bit of time in bottle. Lemon zest, lime, and wet stone are framed by discrete wood and brilliant acidity with a wicked long finish. This wine will be around for quite a while.

2007 Mueller, “LB,” Russian River Valley - $ 32

Sparkling medium yellow/gold in color, this wine explodes with bright, clear tropical fruit aromas. Smokey perfumed pear and apple aromas join the party, accompanied by yeast, toast and butter scents. Full in body and generous in flavor, this wine glides softly with beautifully balanced natural acidity. Mango, pineapple, pear and apple flavors dance harmoniously on the palette in this enormously enjoyable wine. The finish is long and crisp with toasty oak and butterscotch nuances. Enjoyable today or cellar for an additional 2-4 years for added complexity.

2007 Walter Hansel, Cahill Lane, Russian River Valley - $ 36

Hints of caramelized citrus, white currants, honeysuckle, and tropical fruits (pineapple and orange blossom). It is full-bodied, with gorgeous texture, terrific mouthfeel, and vibrant acidity and purity. In fact, the striking component of these 2007s is the extraordinary fruit purity that seems to be found in all the top Chardonnays as well as other varietals. Robert Parker 94 Points

2007 Dutton, Dutton Palms, Russian River Valley - $ 42

The 2007 Dutton Palms Chardonnay is the flagship wine of this small winery. The wine offers an amazing aroma of hazelnut tones with hints of peaches and honey. Full in bodied, loaded with stunning fruit and a touch of minerality this wine opens up on impact and finishes with the most amazing flavors that last for a good 30 seconds!

SAUVINGNON BLANC

2007 Westerly, Santa Ynez Valley - $ 22

Grass and key lime on the nose, with some tropical fruit and grapefruit notes as well. Rich but lively on the palate, with citrus as well as tropical fruit and some melon flavors. Bright acidity leads to a long, clean finish. Reminiscent, in some aspects, of both New Zealand sauvignon blanc and Loire Valley Sancerre.

PINOT BLANC

2008 York Creek, Napa Valley - $ 23

Enticing aromatics of lemon drop, Granny Smith apple, tangerine and spearmint. The palate is bright and expressive, with the ripe fruit profile in perfect balance with the natural acidity. The roasted lemon and green apple notes are beautifully framed giving it energy on the back half of the palate, expanding into a savory, thirst-quenching finish.
