Item Description
Dinner at 4:30 pm: Fine dining in a gorgeous room designed to echo the decor and architecture of the Civic Opera House. A tasty beginning, an elegant appetizer, a delectable entree and a luscious sweet ending - four artfully prepared dishes provide the perfect complement to your Lyric Opera experience.
The Opera at 6:00 pm: King Henry is looking for a champion to lead his armies against the invaders. And Elsa is praying for a savior to clear her of charges that she murdered her brother - levied by a villainous knight who wants power for himself and his sorceress wife. Enter Lohengrin, a mysterious knight in shining armor, who will right all wrongs and marry Elsa - as long as no one asks him his origin or name! Steeped in legend, "Lohengrin" envelops listeners with heroic choruses, exquisitely poetic arias, and ensembles that crackle with intensity. The cast: Johan Botha (Lohengrin) and Emily Magee (Elsa) with Sir Andrew Davis as Conductor. In German with projected English translations.
