Item Description
Plan to spend the weekend of September 10-12, 2010, bringing meditation and golf together. Dorje Denma Ling in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, will play host to golf professional and meditator Ed Hanczaryk as he teaches on the topic of how meditation can improve your golf and your life.
Ed Hanczaryk, originally from Jacksonville, Florida, is the director of Awareness Golf in Nova Scotia. He is a certified PGA and CPGA teaching professional of long-standing. Ed says of his training that he began to realize it was his mind and not his swing that needed work. He started studying the psychologists of the time - Fritz Perls and Carl Jung - but then found a Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Chogyam Trungpa, who was able to enlighten him on the nature of mind. For Ed golf then became bound with meditation.
Dorje Denma Ling in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, is Canada's only Shambhala International land centre. It was founded in 1992 to uphold the view, meditation and teachings of the Vidyadhara, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and his son and heir, the Sakyong, Mipham Rinpoche. The simple, unpretentious and elemental quality of Dorje Denma Ling provides an inviting place for local, regional and international gatherings for Shambhala Buddhism and other traditions that promote individual and global health and harmony. The content of the programs offered at Dorje Denma Ling spans all levels of experience with meditation and the human spiritual journey.
