Two Subscriptions to the 2010-2011 New Mexico Tech Performing Arts Series go to the winning bidder. Eleven performances in a variety of genres will be presented from September 2010 through April 2011 at the intimate 600-seat Macey Center in Socorro on the NM Tech campus, just 75 miles south of Albuquerque.
Some highlights include:
Emeline Michel - She has emerged as the reigning queen of Haitian song.
Bless Me Ultima - New Mexico's beloved novel by Rudolfo Anaya comes to the stage in its Southwest premiere.
Jigu Thunder Drums of China - Hailing from the Shanxi province, they are a world-renown company of drummers and percussionists.
Fishtank Ensemble - They perform high-energy, cross-pollinated music, uniquely blending Romanian, Gypsy jazz, flamenco, Balkan, Turkish and tango influenced music.
