Item Description

This stunning photograph, Apis Mellifera, was shot for the Northside Artist's Group exhibit Celebrating the Land: The Joy of Troy Gardens by artist Ronald McKinley, who is generously donating it to this auction.

The photograph is about 14 by 17 inches and framed in black metal.

Intrigued, but finding it hard to bid on artwork that you can only see in a photo?  Stop by the Lakeview Branch Library at the corner of Sherman Avenue and Northport Drive in  Madison, where the Celebrating the Land: The Joy of Troy Gardens exhibit is now hanging, to see Mr. McKinley's outstanding photograph.

Item Special Note

The artist statement accompanying this piece:

We humans can till the land and plant the seed, weed, and water but in the end, without Mother Nature, we wouldn’t have much of a garden. We are blessed with the sun, the warm Spring rains and yes, our little black and gold jerseyed friends that spread the pollen plant to plant, one at a time. Sometimes the smallest things we take for granted are the most important. As we celebrate this little plot of land on Madison’s Northside, let’s always remember "How great it is."
