The Puppet Co. Playhouse in Glen Echo, Maryland, offers a Gift Certificate good for four (4) tickets to a show (or any combination of shows) within our regularly scheduled season.

Shows in the 2012 Season include:

• Rapunzel (3/15/2012 - 4/7/2012) - A "bewitching" adaptation of the Grimm's fairytale, featuring the music of Jacques Ibert.  Witch Wartsmith wants a baby, and after bargaining for little Rapunzel, must go to great lengths to keep the growing girl away from a handsome prince.   The Puppet Co. uses the charm and simplicity of hand puppets in a production designed to delight its younger audiences (PreK - 4th Grade).
• Pinocchio (4/12/2012 - 6/3/2012) - Half life-size rod puppets, performed in the Italian "Comedia del Arte" style, tell Carlo Collodi’s story of what it means to be “real”.  Share the trials and tribulations of the little live puppet as he finds in one adventure after another that the “easy way” isn’t always the right way.  Pinocchio sets out for school with the best of intentions, but somehow something more interesting leads him off the straight and narrow path.  A Fox and Cat, a puppet show, and a coach ride to a land too good to be true, all distract little Pinocchio from his quest to become a real boy.  Called by Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater, “ One of the most exquisite productions to ever grace our theater.” (K - 6th Grade)
• Tiny Tots at 10:00 - On select Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, come see Puppet Master Bob Brown perform a variety of shows to entertain kids from ages 0 to 4.

The Washington Post has praised The Puppet Co. theater as a gem for the area and the Art of Puppetry.  Frommer's Washington, D.C. for Kids said, "If you don't do another entertaining thing, take your family (I don't care how old you or your children are) to a performance...in the Puppet Co. Playhouse..."  The Puppet Co. has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, The Today Show, and nearly every local news program in the metropolitan area.  Child Magazine heralded the Puppet Co. as one of the "Ten Best Children's Activities in the U.S.A."
