2012 ESPY Awards

Enjoy (2) Center Loge (sections 200-400) tickets to the 20th annual ESPY Awards ceremony on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, airing on ESPN live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles to honor the coolest and best star athletes and memorable moments from the past year. Must be age 18 or over to attend the event.

Begun by cable sports channel ESPN in 1993, the annual ESPY Awards allow sports fans worldwide to join in an online vote for their favorites in such categories as Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Best Coach/Manager, and Team of the Year.

The ESPYs represents Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards for individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance. Last year, the awards show was hosted for the second consecutive year by "Saturday Night Live" comic Seth Meyers. The style is more relaxed and self-referential than that of many other awards shows, with comedic sketches usually included.  The ESPYs are probably most noted for its contribution to charity, as a portion of the proceeds is donated to The V Foundation, named for its founder, Jim Valvano.

Nominees will be officially announced in June 2012. Fans will vote on an ESPY category during the televised broadcast, and see the results of their vote live on stage.

NBA’s Dallas Maverics and forward Dirk Nowitzki were the big winners at last year’s ESPY Awards. Nowitzki received two trophies for Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player and shared the Best Team award with his NBA Championship colleagues.  Reigning Olympic downhill champion and three-time overall World Cup ski champion Lindsey Vonn won Best Female Athlete, and Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas won Best Championship Performance for helping his team to the Stanley Cup championship. Other winners named in 2011 included Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers as Best NFL Player; Pitcher Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies as Best MLB Player; five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson as Best Driver; U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy as Best Male Golfer; Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams as Best Male and Best Female Tennis Player, respectively; and snowboarder/skateboarder Shaun White as Best Male Action Sport Athlete.

Hyatt Regency Century Plaza

American Airlines

This package includes round-trip coach class service for (2) from any American Airlines destination in the 48 contiguous United States or Canada to anywhere American Airlines flies in the 48 contiguous United States or Canada, subject to availability. A minimum of three nights or a Saturday night stay is required. AAdvantage miles may be earned in accordance with the terms and conditions of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program. Miles cannot be utilized to upgrade these coach class certificates to a higher level of service. The following blackout dates apply:

Airfare certificates will have a one-year expiration from the date of purchase. Any airport departure taxes, fees or fuel surcharges (if charged) are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Must be booked a minimum of 60 days in advance.  Reservations are subject to availability.  Certificates cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.  All purchases are non-refundable.  Packages cannot be resold.  Ground transportation is not included.
