Your Barrel. Your Label. Your Wine. You are the Winemaker!

Vint Hill Craft Winery in Warrenton, Virginia, is offering the experience of a lifetime.  You (a restaurant owner, chef, individual, or small group) will participate alongside their award-winning team of winemakers to create a Barrel of Your Own Red or White Wine.  Using grapes from Virginia, California, or Washington state, you will learn the secrets of making great wine.

Have it Your Way

The Vint Hill experts will guide you as you craft your own wine.  Choose the style and create it to your own taste.  The finished product will have your own name, a label of your design, and of course, your story behind it.

It all begins with an initial consultation where you will meet the Vint Hill winemakers and plan your wine.  From there, you embark upon a full cycle of hands-on wine making experience from grape to bottle.  Participate at your desired level of involvement and Vint Hill Craft Winery will do the rest.  They will do it all if you like!

In the winemaking world, fruit quality varies from vineyard to vineyard and year to year.  If you select California Cabernet Sauvignon or Washington State Syrah, Vint Hill will obtain the best quality fruit they can, picked and delivered in whole clusters.  If you select Virginia Chardonnay, they'll get the best fruit possible.  They work with the vineyards for you so that as fruit ripens, it is harvested and delivered to the winery to start your winemaking journey.

Your barrel of wine will produce 22-25 cases of your unique wine (approximately 300 personalized bottles) at a retail value of between $6,000 and $12,000.  Share your bottles with friends and family, or sell them at your restaurant or wine store!

Vint Hill Craft Winery commits to use the full resources of the winery as equipped, and the skill of their winemaking team to produce the best possible wine for every Vintner.

Item Special Note

*This barrel could be made with 2012 fruit.  Vint Hill Craft Winery is placing their orders now for this year, so the winner is encouraged to contact the winery soon after the auction to get in on the upcoming production season.

*The only additional costs that may be incurred by the winner would be if they select a barrel being made with fruit or processes above our standard $6000 offering.  Should that occur, Vint Hill will add costs at that time with no markup.

*Level of participation in the step-by-step winemaking process will depend on when the program is awarded.  If you choose to create your wine with a group, please note that for safety reasons, there is a limit to the size of groups in the winery itself.
