Item Description
The Morgan Dollar series has long been one of the favorites among collectors of U.S. coins. Minted from 1878 through 1921, and brought to you by Lake Houston Coin & Bullion, there is little doubt that the sight of coins from this era will evoke visions of the "old West" back in the days of the mining towns of the "California Gold Rush" as well as the discovery of the "Comstock Lode" of silver discovered in Nevada in the 1870's. In fact the issuance of the Morgan Dollar series was originally ordered by the Treasury Department as a way to account for the the government's purchase of silver from the Nevada silver mine fields. The coin offered here is from the Philadelphia mint and has been graded MS63 by PCGS. Housed in a clear plastic holder which allows for viewing both sides of the coin, this specifimen exhibits wonderful eye appeal with a razor sharp strike and blazing snow white surfaces. Truly a nice example of the series, this piece would be a great addition to any collection of U.S. coins.
