Item Description

After 15 years, 2012 marked the end of the legendary BROADWAY BEARS auction.  Starring a collection of one-of-a-kind teddy bears in original Broadway costumes signed by the stars who created the roles, the event raised more than $2 million dollars for Broadway Cares.

A select group of these treasures will be making an encore appearance at the Broadway Flea Market & GRAND AUCTION, starting with this offering of ‘Momma Rose” from the 2008 revival of GYPSY.

This GYPSY bear recreates the powerful and inspiring finale wearing Rose's burgundy dress of crepe de chine as designed by Tony-winner Martin Pakledinaz. She is ready to shine in her strappy shoes by Sam Vasili. Her real human hair wig was styled with expert care by Paul Huntley, who handled the revival's hair and wig design.  Just to show how big of a star this bear really is, she comes with her own overhead sign that lights up the stage with ‘ROSE.” She has been signed by Patti LuPone and Stephen Sondheim.

Item Special Note

Broadway Bear designed by Eric Winterling with the assistance of Judith E. Marsh, Laurel Di Paolo, Joleen Addleman Lloyd (design assistance), Sam Visili (shoes) and Paul Huntley (wig)
