Run of the River, a luxury inn in the Cascade Mountains, is perched alongside the Icicle River — about a half-mile upriver from the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. Surrounded on two sides by Washington Department of Wildlife bird refuge, Run of the River is a birder's paradise, and is also home to deer, coyote, and the occasional bear and elk.
The Great Northwest Suite features great views of the Cascades, the Icicle River, and refuge. It has a private deck with its own birdfeeder, king-sized bed with elegant linens, fireplace, spa tub surrounded by river rock, Wi-Fi, and DVD player (borrowing library in the office).
Five course gourmet breakfasts are included ... think Banana Pancakes with Carmel Syrup, Swiss & Mushroom Quiche, and Apple Crescent Bread Pudding ... so you can get out there and spend the day hiking, biking, skiing, snow-shoeing, whitewater rafting, or bird-watching. As guests of the inn, you are provided with bikes, helmets, snowshoes, hiking sticks, day packs, binoculars, trail passes, maps and expert advice on where to go for all sorts of outdoor adventures in every season.
"...an exceptional place to spend treasured moments together."
