Item Description

12" x 12" x 2" Cold wax and oil painting on wood panel

Laura Deem is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area who explores reconstruction of the past through the development of ethereal surface patinas utilizing hand painted papers and monotypes fused in thin, multiple layers with unbleached beeswax. Widespread travel through Europe and Asia have had a strong influence on her work. Since her first trip to Japan, Laura has been drawn to the simplicity and grace of the culture and it is reflected in her artwork. She has exhibited extensively and is in many public, corporate, and private collections. Laura received undergraduate and graduate degrees in art and communications, graduating magna cum laude.

Item Special Note
