Item Description
"Oak Alley" is an original art work by Alan B Minor aka Skizm. Measured at 24" x 16" this piece was created with a heavily textured acrylic.
About the Artist:
Alan Minor, also known as Skizm to New Orleanians, was born and raised in the Seventh Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. Skizm’s artistic career started at St. Augustine High School where in 1983 he was the drum major for the St. Augustine Marching 100. Upon graduating from high school, Skizm matriculated to Louisiana State University where he traded in his Saxophone for the artist’s brush and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
Skizm enjoys creating with acrylics, oils, and pastels. Some of his favorite styles include expressionism, realism, cubism, and post impressionism. A collaboration of these techniques and mediums create themes of Architectural New Orleans and Abstract Jazz.
This has allowed tourists from Canada, Italy, Africa, New York, and
California to take home pieces of New Orleans that they can see and feel for the remainder of their lives.
Skizm can be found creating on the “Fence” of the beautiful Jackson Square in the French Quarters across from the famous Cafe Du Monde! Tourists sit in Cafe Du Monde and enjoy looking at Skizm create Architectural New Orleans, Abstract Jazz, or commissioned pieces. Just call him Skizm on the Square.
