Item Description
Spend 3 hours learning how to use an etching press to create monotypes!
Monotyping is a type of printmaking made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent plate. The image is then transferred onto a sheet of paper by pressing the two together using a printing press. Monotyping produces a unique print, similar to transferring a painting to paper.
Work in a private studio space with a maximum of three students for the afternoon, learn the history of the monotypes, additive and reductive techniques and come away with several unique pieces of art. Laura Deem has been working in monotypes for 25 years and has been teaching private classes for 10 years. Her work can be seen at www.lauradeem.com
