Item Description
The late Nora Ephron's final play LUCKY GUY ran at the Broadhurst Theatre in 2013 and marked the Broadway debut of two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks. Mr. Hanks played Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mike McAlary during his rise from cub reporter to star columnist at the New York Daily News. The play became the hottest ticket in town for 104 sold-out performances.
Mr. Hanks spearheaded the production's fundraising efforts for last spring's Easter Bonnet Competition by taking photographs backstage and auctioning off props from the show. He would meet each auction winner individually, often as many as 15 parties, always with a smile and a laugh. In the end, LUCKY GUY brought in more than $300,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. As a last token of generosity, Mr. Hanks donated one of his sweat-soaked undershirts worn onstage during the show. We dried it but didn't wash it. Now you can get as close to this "Bosom Buddy" as possible.
This package includes:
- A signed and dated undershirt worn by Tom Hanks during the matinee performance on April 21, 2013
- A LUCKY GUY opening night gift of a leather-bound journal and pen set, autographed by the entire company and presented in its original book-shaped gift box
- An autographed LUCKY GUY poster
