Item Description
This print formed part of a calendar project that happened to culminate just after the events of September 11, 2001. Its message: "In the history of man, it has already been proved, that the human will is more powerful than the gun," His Holiness the Dalai Lama, 1985.
Marlena Torzecka of Marlena Agency conceived of the calendar in 2001 after attending teachings given by HHDL. She came away from hearing them with the desire to produce a calendar based on illustrated quotes from his teachings and books. "I sent about 40 quotes to 13 artists" she says, each of whom then selected the quote of their choice.
Linda Helton created this print from her chosen quote and its peaceful message was "incredibly well received". People called and wrote with their thanks; truth for difficult times..
