Item Description
The Mahamudra tradition is an unsurpassed means of meeting reality—seeing the world in all its transcendent beauty, power, and perfection. While it is among the pinnacle teachings of Tibetan Buddhism, Mahamudra is astoundingly accessible to modern people. Be the successful bidder for this March 22-30, 2014, "Mahamudra for the Modern World" retreat.
This nine-day residential retreat, led by Reggie Ray, offers immersion in some of the most profound Mahamudra practices, as well as discussion of how this path can unfold in our contemporary lives—in order to fully experience the awakening, freedom, and joy offered by this ancient tradition. It expands upon the audio training course of the same name developed by Reggie Ray, allowing both beginning and advanced practitioners to discover and deepen their own practice within the warmth and support of the retreat community. Meditation practice will be grounded in extensive work with the body as the locus of enlightenment in this life.
The retreat will be held at Blazing Mountain Retreat Center on the flanks of the Sangre de Christo Mountains in Crestone, Colorado, four hours south of Denver and Boulder in the San Luis Valley.
The item includes tuition, meals, and lodging. Lodging is in the 12-person dormitory but the successful bidder may upgrade, choosing from among other room options and paying the difference.
The mission of the Dharma Ocean Foundation is to embody, unfold, and widely offer the unique path to enlightenment taught by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Dharma Ocean is a non-profit (501-c3) organization. Visit dharmaocean.org for more information.
