Yoga & Meditation Classes for Military Personnel: 4 sessions one hour each for 1-4 persons. Classes are geared to the military culture, will be done in a chair or on the floor, and will include: mild/gentle Yoga postures, breath awareness, sensory control and other techniques for living in the present moment. The meditation is guided imagery to calm and relax the body and mind. The instructor offers a breath-oriented approach, exercises and imagery for PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) for any age group.
LAURI CAHN PYT, TCY, RYT, NETA has been extensively trained and certified by Integrative Yoga Therapy, USA and by Kaivalyadhama Institute, India. Over the past 20 years she has taught numerous seminars, classes and small therapy groups for special conditions including Yoga and Meditation to caregivers and wheelchair survivors.
Lauri is currently training with Warriors at Ease, a program to teach Yoga and Meditation to help wounded warriors with PTSD and/or TBI in military settings including active duty service members, veterans, family members, professional caregivers and civilian staff. Lauri understands the importance of “specialized technical and sensitivity training focused on military culture and combat-related conditions.”
Warriors at Ease brings the healing power of Yoga and Meditation to military communities around the world, especially those affected by combat-stress, PTSD and trauma. Certified mind-body professionals enhance the health and well-being of service members, veterans, families and healthcare staff.
Item Special Note
Classes are in or near Princeton, NJ. The instructor is willing to go to any Vet center, community center, gym, military base, hospital, home or secure location of your choice within 20 miles in each direction of Princeton, NJ (40 miles round trip). If space permits, the instructor will add a few more people to the class.
This could be a wheelchair course specifically for the military, or a female only class, or a military caregivers class. The instructor is passionate about helping the military community and will structure the classes accordingly.
