Item Description
Haori make a great addition to your casual wear, adding a touch of elegance. You can put this one on over a t-shirt for a quick and dressy change.
Traditionally, haori are worn over a kimono in times of not-so-good weather to protect the kimono and also to add extra warmth. They have beautiful patterns, both outside and in. They typically extend to the hip or mid-thigh and are open-fronted. They are not meant to overlap like a kimono. Strings can be attached to prevent the front from opening.
The Ikebana Shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia is owned by the husband-and-wife team of Miyako and Ferdinand Ballesteros. The idea for a Japanese flower arrangement service started with Miyako’s desire to share her passion for ikebana in their new hometown.
