Item Description

4 bottle flight of Audelssa Sonoma Valle red wines including 1 bottle of 2007 Zephyr, 1 bottle of 2007 Tephra, 1 bottle of 2007 Tempest, and 1 bottle of 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Zephyr:  91pts.

Audelssa "Zephyr" Estate, Rhone Style Blend, Sonoma Valley 2007. 37% Granache, 33% Syrah, 29% Mourverde, 1% Viognier

Stern and relentless; a brilliant stone-faced Rhone Blend that stoically challenges all conventions and the fragility of many palates with its mountainside and fierce, gravelly flavors. Profound; a wine that is difficult to approach early but which rewards in the end with elegant flavors and a long candied finish. An edgy, high acid wine; medium weight with clean flavors, little oak or tannis and tasting as though it was hewed directly out of the mountainside with flavors of gravel and stone, red raspberries, red cherry syrup, strawberries, black cassis hard candy, powdered chocolate truffles, red apple peel, pencil graphite, rose votive, soy sauce, anise, cigar box and Polish sesame seed bar.

Tephra:

Composition: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 10% Merlot, 5% Zinfandel

We are very excited to introduce our first non-traditional blend made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Zinfandel! Our goal in creating this blend was to make a wine that can be enjoyed at an impromptu casual dinner at the pizzeria as well as paired with fine cuisine.
This is a wine we want you to drink the day you buy it. But, don’t let this wine deceive you, it will age 8-10 years. For those of you curious enough to wonder what the name means; it is derived from Greek, meaning “ash” which is reminiscent of the soil we have at our estate vineyard. This approachable, food friendly, and medium bodied wine expresses characteristics reminiscent of each varietal. You can expect spicy notes, red fruit and a round, supple mouth feel.

Tempest: 94 pts.

95% syrah, 5% viongier

The Tempest is patterned after the traditional Cote Rotie wines of the Northern Rhone. This wine is a blend of co-fermented Syrah and Viognier from our estate Mountain Terraces vineyard. The severe hillside terrain of this vineyard naturally limits crop size, resulting in grapes with flavors of great depth and concentration. We use minimalist winemaking techniques in order to preserve and express the unique terroir of this extraordinary site.

Angelic and devlish; a sweeping, suave, unabridged mountainside Syrah, it cast the consummate blanket of all the classic, elaborate, wide-ranging Syrah flavors: dark mineral, black fruit, red fruit, and a slight gaminess.

Cabernet Sauvignon: 94 pts.

Dark red violet color; rich, berry, cassis, raspberry nose; tasty, rich, silky textured, ripe cassis, berry, tart raspberry palate with a touch of menthol; medium-plus finish.

Our 2007 Cabemet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley is an epic wine. Built to last 12-15 years yet friendly enough to enjoy in its youth, it is unquestionably the highest quality vintage of this wine that we have released to date. Notes of red and dark cherries, mocha and creamy French oak are complemented by silky, refined tannins. This wine exhibits a balance of elegance and power uncommon in California Cabernets.
