Item Description
Pinot Noir flight includes 1 bottle Benoni 2009 Pinot Noir, 1 bottle Rmililly 2007 Pinot Noir, 1 bottle WesMar 2001 Pinot Noir, 1 bottle Blue Farm 2008 Pinot Noir
Benoni:
Dark ruby color. Explosive aromas of dark, wild cherry, crushed red fruit. Sweet, rich core of dark cherry and raspberries, a touch of black tea. Great high-toned flavors, with excellent persistence. Fine definition on the back palate with superb freshness and vibrancy. Drink now (hard not to) or age for up 5 years in a cool cellar.
Blue Farm:
New Pinot Noir from the makers of Donum Estate! We've come to expect great things from Donum over the years, and the Blue Farm effortlessly continues the streak. This bottle consolidates the essence of California Pinot Noir into a great chord of beauty. Trebled aromatics, silky-sweet middles, and a surprisingly profound yet soft bass-note that lingers its harmony for a long time; a worthy edition for Pinot Noir greatness in Carneros.
Romililly:
This wine is a blend of two vineyards in the Russian River Valley. Since our first vintage in 2006 we have sourced from the Morelli Lane vineyard. The second vineyard has been both, the Winkler vineyard in 2009 and 2011. Generally this wine is cold soaked for 3-4 days and then inoculated with Assmanshausen yeast. The wine is punched down 1-3 times a day depending on temperature and extraction. Upon completion of fermentation the wine is pressed and barreled down to 1/3 new oak, 1/3 once used barrels and 1/3 neutral wood. Here the wine will go through malolactic fermentation and maturation, being bottled after 9-10 months. From this point the wine spends another 7-9 months in bottle before release.
WesMar:
2001 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, Olivet Lane Vineyard
This is a garnet colored wine with aromas of smoked meats, dark cherry fruit and spice. A sip reveals pungent ripe black cherry fruit, oak, caramel and nutmeg. This wine has very concentrated fruit with generous body and texture. ( 187 cases produced )
