Item Description

Bid is for one producer-autographed case and copy of the documentary film The Invisible Soldiers:
Unheard Voices, produced by Dr. William ‘Smitty’ Smith, Founder and Executive
Director of the National Center for Race Amity. Invisible Soldiers shares the untold
history of African Americans soldiers in WWII.
In the words of Cornel West, the film
is “a sterling testimony to the invincible courage and towering moral statue of African
Americans as they fought two wars, one against the Axis powers, the other against racism
at home.” Historian and Author Doris Kearns Goodwin referred to the work as “… an extraordinary film that presents an important part of our nation’s history that has not been
fully shown. The film gives some balance to the history of WWII that has been lacking in popular media and education materials.”
Winner of Best Documentary Film, Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame.
