Item Description

Every May Khenpo Rinpoche leads Padmasambhava Buddhist Center's annual Windhorse Retreat at Padma Samye Ling in the Western Catskill Mountains. The successful bidder for this item will take part in the retreat's May 24 to 26, 2014 (Sat-Mon), study and group practice sessions and receive empowerment, meditation instruction, and teachings.

The Windhorse Retreat includes a Vajrayana empowerment, instruction, the raising of prayer flags throughout the monastery and retreat land, and daily smoke offering ceremonies. The retreat sits amidst 500 natural acres of forests, meadows, and springs.

Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche was born in eastern Tibet and enthroned as a Nyingmapa Abbot by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche. He traveled and studied with His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, as well as with his late brother, Vajrayana master and scholar Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche, and his father, the hidden yogi Lama Chimed Namgyal. As a holder of the complete Nyingmapa lineage—kama, terma, and Dzogchen teachings—Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche is fully versed in the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana schools, and is a Dzogchen master. He is the author of several learned works in Tibetan, and has co-authored over twenty-five Dharma books in English with Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche. Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche travels extensively within the United States and throughout the world, giving teachings, empowerments, and personal guidance at numerous retreats.

Padmasambhava Buddhist Center was established in 1989 by Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche (1938-2010) and Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche to preserve in its entirety the authentic message of Buddha Shakyamuni and Guru Padmasambhava, and in particular to teach the traditions of the Nyingma school and Vajrayana Buddhism. PBC includes over twenty centers in the U. S.A., Puerto Rico, Latvia, and Russia, as well as monastic institutions in Russia, the U.S.A., and India.
