Item Description
Get chopping on your own handmade cutting board. The "Medium Random" is a good working size, perfect for daily use.
Each of Larch Wood's boards is carefully handmatched to create a unique work of functional art. Crafted in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, this kitchen workhorse is also ideally suited to daily use.
Larch Wood Enterprises Inc. specializes in ‘end grain' cutting boards and custom woodworking. Its small select group of craftspeople works exclusively with the native Eastern Canadian Larch which grows in abundance on the Island. Larch was traditionally used in applications where endurance was key, boatbuilding, decking and fence posts, but its rot resistance, strength and ability to neutralize bacteria also made it a superior cutting surface. It was the bold grain-patterning and natural coloring, however, that formed the inspiration for crafting boards: form and function.
