Item Special Note
Michael C. Hsiung (born in Chinatown, Los Angeles) illustrates his own imaginative world as a place where creatures of fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and lullabies live. He features strangely rotund characters that range from centaurs to mermen. Tongue-in-cheek humor is recurrent in Hsiung’s work followed by an underlying examination of social critique in other-worldly societies.
