Item Description
This package includes an authentic autographed copy of "The Brothers Reuther and The Story of the UAW" – A memoir by Victor G. Reuther, 1976. This first-hand account details the dramatic rise of the United Auto Workers union and the personal history of one family's crusade for social justice.
Also included is an autographed DVD of “Brothers on the Line,” a documentary by Sasha Reuther (2012, 80 minutes). Narrated by Martin Sheen, this acclaimed documentary explores the lives of an incendiary trio of brothers – Walter, Roy, and Victor Reuther – prolific labor and civil rights leaders under the banner of the United Auto Workers union. Forged in the car factories of Detroit, their 40-year crusade against entrenched greed and discrimination would reap fierce allies and violent enemies on the road to raising the living standards of millions of Americans. The film was produced and directed by Victor's grandson, Sasha Reuther. A special preview of the film was screened at the Traverse City Film Festival in 2011.
