Item Description
The Seacrest Inn is conveniently located near the passenger terminal and the major tourist attractions of Avalon. The Inn operates out of the original Banning Family home. The Banning brothers William, Joseph Brent and Hancock owned Catalina Island from 1891 to 1919. In 1915 a calamitous fire destroyed many of their Avalon properties and dealt a blow to the development of the Island into a resort destination. The fire coupled with the financial demands of WWI forced the Family to sell shares of their Santa Catalina Island Company to the public. William Wrigley Jr. (of the chewing gum fame) ultimately purchased all the shares and in 1919 became the sole owner of the Island.
The atmosphere of the Seacrest Inn has the charm and décor of an historic Victorian home but is filled with the amenities of modern life. Each room is decorated in a different theme and most have soaking or spa tubs with showers. Our guests are welcomed to the covered rooftop patio which offers a secluded place to read or enjoy a cool drink. A sundeck is available for those wishing to relax and bathe in the radiant Avalon sun. The Inn is a perfect destination for romantic get-a-ways and those who want to participate in the nearby attractions of Avalon.
Our third story penthouse is equipped with a queen size bed, shower for two and a separate oversized Jacuzzi. The bathroom fixtures are beautiful adorned polished brass sitting on distinctive marble counter tops. It offers a kitchenette complete with microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, cook top and settee. The main room has a 52” flat screen plasma TV with DVD player. Cable movie channels are included.
Also included for your travel convenience is a $100 gift card for the Catalina Express.
