Item Special Note
Artist Statement: I've been drawing and painting my "Clown" figure with the striped, pointy triangle hat for decades. He's my alter-ego and everything I go through, he goes through. Since 2009, my un-"Healthy Choice" frozen food entre diet has inexorably crept its way into my imagery, with silhouetted collage elements appropriated from the cardboard packaging of the meals I've eaten. Cheap processed food and the global Corporate Food industry's stranglehold on Western society's daily food choices (as consumed by me!) are the inherent themes behind this work. Two months ago I was utterly surprised to learn that I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes-- so look for my Clown figure to begin his new diet of lean protein, whole grains and steamed broccoli in future paintings...
