About The Artist:

Victoria Calabro received a BFA degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and an MFA in Fine Art from New York University. Categorized as sculptor, installation artist, and craft artist, she often works within the traditional sculpture medium, while incorporating unconventional art materials. The majority of her early life was spent living in the Middle East, where she became interested in ideas of home, separation and memory. Most recently she participated in a group show at the Liberty Museum of Art in Philadelphia and was a visiting artist in residence at DEMO Project in Springfield, IL.

In 2007 Victoria began working as a teaching artist in New York City public schools.  Here she teaches a wide range of media to children grades pre k to 12. She has also helped to develop pre-college art programs for NYU and The Dumbo Arts Center with the goal to mentor and engage high school age students. This year Victoria co-curated the Summer Long Sculpture Program for FIGMENT NYC along with Jessica Wallen. Victoria currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
