Item Description

Heide Trepanier, 45, lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. Heide earned her BFA from The Art Institute of Chicago in 1995, and traveled the country looking for something she never found. She returned to Richmond in 1997 and completed her MFA in 2000 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Painting and Printmaking. She has exhibited her work extensively at local and international galleries—from the collections of the VMFA and The Speed Museum in Kentucky to cities in Spain and Costa Rica. Heide is the recipient of many prestigious awards and fellowships, most recently including a 2013 Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Creative Fellowship from The Virginia Center for The Arts. She is currently enrolled at European Graduate School as a doctoral candidate in Communication and Media and will exhibit at Reynolds gallery in Richmond this September.

Note: No matter which option you choose, you must register to bid. Winning absentee bids are binding.

Option A: Submit an Absentee Bid.

After you’ve registered to bid online, you must call or send an email to Laura Dickinson stating the item number of the door you are bidding on and your maximum bid amount. Absentee bids must be received by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23^rd.

Policy: Ms. Dickinson will present your bid in writing to the auctioneer for the live auction. The Find Art Doors auctioneer is a certified auctioneer with Blacktie Benefit Auctions. The auctioneer will bid competitively on your behalf. 

Option B: Send a friend to the event in your place.

Purchase a ticket online with your credit card info. This automatically registers you to bid. Name on the ticket should be the person presenting at check in. 

Other Item Info

All doors are exterior doors and vary in size; generally are 82” x 36” or slightly less. Please measure your door frame if you intend to install as a door. 

Doors were seasonally weather-proofed but not guaranteed to withstand outdoor elements indefinitely; purchasers should treat accordingly.

Artists retain the copyright of door designs; may not be reproduced without artist’s permission.

Gently used poles for in-ground installation sold separately, $20/set 

Winners of doors may take them home that evening or pick up at Tredegar the following day, October 25th, from 1 – 4 p.m. 

Pick-up is also available at the Art on Wheels Studio: 3108 W Leigh St. during the following times:
