Item Description
Much of my work is the result of colliding qualities: isolation and inclusion, vulnerability and resilience, profound tragedy and absurd comedy. As these polar opposites create a cycle for the way things interact and depend upon each other, one basic shape is discovered: the circle that repeats over and over endlessly. The circle and its repetition help us understand the way life works as well as the ways our emotional, human lives develop and expand. These interactions are illustrated by building a narrative between nature and the soul as a general metaphor. My interests lie in suggesting poetic possibilities through the use of allegorical methods at its epicenter, rather than a structured linear resolved narrative. In this regard, I see art as a way to stimulate thought and provoke emotional responses that can, at times be relief from a much too serious life.
Item Special Note
All doors are exterior doors and vary in size; generally are 82” x 36” or slightly less. Please measure your door frame if you intend to install as a door.
Doors were seasonally weather-proofed but not guaranteed to withstand outdoor elements indefinitely; purchasers should treat accordingly.
Artists retain the copyright of door designs; may not be reproduced without artist’s permission.
Gently used poles for in-ground installation sold separately, $20/set
Winners of doors may take them home that evening or pick up at Tredegar the following day, October 25th, from 1 – 4 p.m.
Pick-up is also available at the Art on Wheels Studio: 3108 W Leigh St. during the following times:
