Item Description
Steven Olszewski is a widely-collected, Michigan-based practitioner of the raku clay firing technique, taught to him by the raku master Robert Pipenburg. Each of his sculptures is hand constructed and unique. “Meditation” is influenced by his experiences while living in Japan and is meant to be an essentially calming but otherwise ambiguous metaphor that is open to the viewer’s interpretation. It is 28” high and has a heavy granite base. Information about his work and the raku firing technique can be found at his website: www.stevenloszewskisculpture.com
