Item Description
Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon were Broadway royalty. With more than 30 shows and 13 Tony Awards between them, they created and performed in the most celebrated and beloved musicals of the 20th century. In 1999, Ms. Verdon was the artistic adviser on the Tony Award-winning musical Fosse, where, with Ann Reinking and Chet Walker, she lovingly recreated the best of Mr. Fosse’s brilliant work with a stunning company of dancers.
Take home an original lithograph by Al Hirschfeld, the ninth of a limited series of 100 and delicately signed by Mr. Hirschfeld in his inimitably printed handwriting. This drawing appeared in the Arts & Leisure edition of the Sunday New York Times the weekend after Fosse opened, on January 14, 1999. It features Fosse’s muse, legendary dancer/choreographer Ann Reinking, and fellow company members in classic, sexy Fosse style.
