Item Description
24x22 Framed digital print of Chuck Zegar's Hot Air Balloons over the Mississippi
Zegar travels through landscapes much as a painter explores the terrain, by engaging in tonality, textures, color and movement of light as such he defines space and goes to the root of seeing. He is a scientist; he is a technician of extraordinary capabilities in his comprehension of data as an objective resource unscathed by limitations but infused with potential. He explores the manner in which we are able to see and then becomes the aesthete as translator of nature in the vein of painters like Rousseau and Cezanne. His medium is not just photography in a manner of snap and capture. In his process he uses the digital medium as the springboard for metaphor through which he poetically redresses nature with the palette of new technologies to process tonality, definition, color and textural intensities and numerous other sensibilities to capture his aesthetic relationship to the subject matter.
